Art History Dissertations As of 2014, all newly submitted Graduate Center dissertations and theses appear in Academic Works shortly after graduation. Some works are immediately available to read and download, and some become available after an embargo period set by the author.
CCNY's MA program in Art History offers an array of courses that complement and draw on New York’s dynamic arts culture. The city’s diverse museums and galleries and its thriving contemporary art scene are featured in many courses and are available for research internships.

A professor of Art History at Queens College and the CUNY Graduate Center, Anna Chave has also taught at Harvard and Yale Universities. She has published many essays concerned with issues of reception, interpretation, gender, and identity, mainly with respect to 20th century art.
In addition, students have the opportunity to study a broad variety of topics with the option to enroll in art history graduate courses at other CUNY campuses (including the Graduate Center, Hunter College, Brooklyn College, and the City College of New York). The programs at CUNY take advantage of New York City with its host of world-renowned.

My research spans a wide range of interests from American modernism, Edward Hopper and realism, abstract expressionism to feminism; Jewish studies, biography and theory of biography, Asian art.
Julia Sneeringer is Professor of History at Queens College and the CUNY Graduate Center. She earned a PhD in history from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in German from Temple University. A historian of 20th century Germany, she also offers courses on modern Europe, including Fascism and Nazism, Europe Since 1945, politics and culture.
PhD candidate in Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center I'm from Italy and my interests focus on Renaissance and Baroque Italian art. I recently researched the cultural and artistic relations between Florence and the Mughal court between the 16th and the 17th century.
